Do you know Mr GV04 RPX? He’s another selfish parker!

Here we are, into the third week of the school term, and South Harrow’s parents are continuing to show how selfish and lazy they can be.  Rather than park a few hundred yards away, before collecting their children from school, a few – the vast minority – continue parking illegally, threatening the safety of other children.

This car parked here just moments after a near-miss, where a child ran out into the road from the Junior School: the driver of the other car that nearly hit him didn’t even see him, neither before nor after the near-miss.

Parking or stopping on yellow zig-zags outside schools is generally frowned upon by parents of small children, teachers, and the community at large. The zig-zags are there for a reason: to stop people parking in dangerous locations.

Today’s one-of-an-occasional-series shows the driver of GV04 RPX, a silver Toyota, stopped on operational yellow zig-zags outside Welldon Park Infant and Nursery School in Kingsley Road, South Harrow at 15.29 on September 17, 2012.

Rule 238 of the Highway Code: You MUST NOT wait or park, or stop to set down and pick up passengers, on school entrance markings (see ‘Road markings’) when upright signs indicate a prohibition of stopping.
