Schools in Harrow affected by NUT Strike on March 28th?

It may have passed many people by, but the National Union of Teachers have called for a strike across London on March 28th 2012, as the “next step in the pensions campaign.”

The strike action on March 28th is for NUT members in the following areas:

Barking & Dagenham, Barnet, Bexley Teachers Association, Brent, Bromley, Camden, Croydon, Ealing, East London, Enfield, Greenwich, Hackney, Hammersmith & Fulham, Haringey, Harrow, Havering, Hillingdon, Hounslow, Islington, Kensington & Chelsea, Kingston upon Thames, Lambeth, Lewisham, Merton, Newham, Redbridge, Richmond upon Thames, Southwark, Sutton, Waltham Forest, Wandsworth and Westminster.

At the moment, the impact overall across Harrow’s schools and academies is unknown: teachers who are members of the NUT may choose not to strike, schools may be able to operate more-or-less as usual, they may close early, or they may close entirely for that day, depending on the individual impact.

If you haven’t heard from your school that it’s affected, then you’re probably okay, although it wouldn’t hurt to check their website, speak to a member of staff, or telephone the school to check. If you need to arrange holiday/leave days from work, then that’s probably a good idea to find out now!
