Welldon Park School Gets Tough on Selfish Parkers

Welldon Park Infant and Nursery school in South Harrow might have decided to get behind our campaign against Selfish Parkers in the community. In their latest newsletter to parents (extract below), the tone of their occasional request for drivers has taken a tougher stance against this unsocial and selfish behaviour by a small minority of parents.

Parking or stopping on yellow zig-zags outside schools is generally frowned upon by parents of small children, teachers, and the community at large. The zig-zags are there for a reason: to stop people parking in dangerous locations.

Rule 238 of the Highway Code: You MUST NOT wait or park, or stop to set down and pick up passengers, on school entrance markings (see ‘Road markings’) when upright signs indicate a prohibition of stopping

Welldon Park deserve a round of applause for ramming this point home to parents.
