Conservatives Announce their Candidate for Harrow West in 2015 Elections

hannahharrowThe Conservatives have unveiled their prospective parliamentary candidate to take on Gareth Thomas in the Harrow West constituency ahead of the 2015 General Election.

Hannah David, a mother of three, is Chairman of Hertmere’s single Planning Committee and is Chair of the Hendon Ward in the Hendon constituency. She is a non-practicing solicitor who is currently studying for a Masters degree at University College.

Currently, Hannah is a Councillor for the Hillside Ward in Borehamwood, a role for which she was re-elected twice, and has previously been leader of the Elstree and Borehamwood Town Council.

As she studies part-time, Hannah feels she will have plenty of time to devote to the issues Harrow West constituents really care about. Her campaign priorities will be:

  • Fighting for local services
  • Protecting and growing local employment
  • Safeguarding Harrow’s environment

Hannah’s voluntary and community work includes being a member of a school advisory board and being a founder member of a free school project group which is aiming to establish a free school in Hertsmere. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and three children.

We’d wonder how a mother of three, being a part-time student, a chair of two committees, and involved in two school advisory groups, would have any spare time – at all! – to be able to fulfill the role.  It would also be far more appropriate to have someone local within Harrow, so they at least know the area, the people, and the community that they represent.

Hendon Conservative snote that “Councillor David has pledged to continue to give her support to the Hendon Association in the future…” which sounds someone worrying for Harrow West.
