Harrow Leisure Centre shortlisted for prestigious National Fitness Award

Harrow Leisure Centre is in the running for a prestigious national fitness industry award, having beaten off competition from gyms all over the country.

Harrow Leisure Centre has been shortlisted for ‘Local Authority Gym of the Year’ in the National Fitness Awards. The awards recognise excellence, innovation and achievement in gyms and this particular category celebrates council owned gyms that are at the heart of their local community.

Harrow Leisure Centre, which is managed by Everyone Active in partnership with Harrow Council, is hoping to triumph having been shortlisted from hundreds of entries. The centre will now be visited by a member of the National Fitness Awards’ team. The judge will look around the facilities, interview the manager and speak to members and staff, before compiling a comprehensive report to be passed on to an expert judging panel. Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony in Leicester on Friday 1st December.

“We’re delighted that Harrow Leisure Centre has been shortlisted for the National Fitness Awards,” says Everyone Active General Manager Iain Milton. “I would like to thank all the staff for their hard work and dedication that has brought us to this stage. We hope that more of the local community will visit the centre to experience the great customer service and fantastic facilities that we have on offer.”

i wonder why so few members of the council avail themselves of this state of the art fitness facility on the doorstep as it were ? oh i know a couple of poseurs like to pec pump and unnecessarily grunt and grimace and perhaps such gym histrionics scare off the tubby middle management /team leaders? i must say it rather lets the side down but on the other side of the coin the local cake and pie shops are only too happy not to loose their addicted dainty consuming army i really do think that dear old michael lockwood should devise a schedule for these folk with the incentive of a prize for the best transformation can i get an amen people?
