Harrow’s Water Company Sold

The Evening Standard is reporting today that Veolia, the water company which serves Harrow (as well was Barnet, Brent, Ealing, Enfield and Hillingdon), has sold its water business in a £1.2 billion deal. Although it’ll keep a 10% stake in the business, Rift Aquisitions – a joint venture of managed infrastructure investment funds – will take over. It’s unclear at this stage whether there will be a name change.

The sale was a result of Veolia’s management’s aim to reduce the company’s huge £15 billion of debt.
