KY11 ZVB Is a Selfish Parker

As we come into the first week back after the Easter Holidays (or ‘Spring Break’ if we listen to the more ‘politically correct’ schools), it’s a shame to see that some parents continue to be lazy/selfish/arrogant/ignorant (delete as appropriate) with their parking outside schools.

Today’s newest member to the much-sought-after Selfish Parker’s Club is the driver of a shiny silver Mercedes, registration KY11 ZVB, who thought it was perfectly okay to stop for a few minutes – right in front or a crowd of parents and children trying to cross the road – to pick up his wife and kids outside Welldon Park Infant School in South Harrow at 3.31 this afternoon.

ky11zvbParking or stopping on yellow zig-zags outside schools is generally frowned upon by parents of small children, teachers, and the community at large. The zig-zags are there for a reason: to stop people parking in dangerous locations.

Rule 238 of the Highway Code: You MUST NOT wait or park, or stop to set down and pick up passengers, on school entrance markings (see ‘Road markings’) when upright signs indicate a prohibition of stopping.
