LO61KXD and HN56GZT Are Selfish Parkers!

schoolzigzagSince Welldon Park Infant School had splashed out on a new set of school gates – to make, we presume, life easier for teachers, as opposed to parents and children – we’d wondered if the perennial problem of Selfish Parkers had gone away. Not so, unfortunately.

Today at 3.31pm, we spotted not one, but two cars parked selfishly and carelessly on yellow zig-zags outside the school, as well as one parent making a 17-point turn in the little space that remained whilst children cross the road all around him.

Today, we present LO61 KXD, a smart grey-coloured Renault, parked on yellow zig-zags outside the school in Kingsley Road:

Next up is HN56 GZT, a sleek and powerful BMW, driven by an idiot, parked just the other side of the school gates:

Parking or stopping on yellow zig-zags outside schools is generally frowned upon by parents of small children, teachers, and the community at large. The zig-zags are there for a reason: to stop people parking in dangerous locations.

Rule 238 of the Highway Code: You MUST NOT wait or park, or stop to set down and pick up passengers, on school entrance markings (see ‘Road markings’) when upright signs indicate a prohibition of stopping.
