Mr LC12JPJ is a Selfish Parker!

It’s been a quiet few weeks with our Selfish Parkers’ campaign – it seems that closer attention by the local Police Safer Neighbourhood Team and the Council’s CCTV car had made an impact on those people who ignore the restrictions on parking across yellow zig-zags outside schools during operational hours. However, today, we have another new entrant to the club.

Mr LC12 JPJ, a white VW van owned by the T Brown Group, was spotted outside Welldon Park Junior School at 9.21 this morning, December 5, 2012, where he’d been parked for over an hour.

Parking or stopping on yellow zig-zags outside schools is generally frowned upon by parents of small children, teachers, and the community at large. The zig-zags are there for a reason: to stop people parking in dangerous locations.

Rule 238 of the Highway Code: You MUST NOT wait or park, or stop to set down and pick up passengers, on school entrance markings (see ‘Road markings’) when upright signs indicate a prohibition of stopping.
