Mr RK55UAG, Mr RV03GFK and friends are all Selfish Parkers!

Just catching up on the Selfish Parkers from the end of last week, and we’ve found a whole barrage f them at Pinner Park school on the afternoon of Friday December 7, 2012.  It had been a quiet few weeks with our Selfish Parkers’ campaign, but once one’s crawled out to park on operational yellow zig-zags, they all seem to appear! Worse still, I think these are all new entrants to the Selfish Parkers Club, so welcome, one and all.

Many thanks to the person who sent these in, who wishes to remain anonymous.

First up, is Mr RK55UAG in his 2005 Toyota Rav 4, who was spotted at 15.16. Clearly recognising that he’s an idiot, he’d put on his hazard warning lights so that other drivers nearby are aware he’s a Selfish Parker.

Next, following like lemmings, we’ve got Mr RV03GFK in a nice silver Mercedes C270 (and, it says here, the ‘Avantgarde’ model), and just beyond him, a silver BMW and a dark-coloured Land Rover. Unfortunately, they’re just a little to far away to read the registration number, but we’re sure they’ll be back shortly. These were taken at 15.23, again, on the same afternoon.

Worse still, you can see – clearly – the sign which points out the restrictions on stopping, right next to them!

Parking or stopping on yellow zig-zags outside schools is generally frowned upon by parents of small children, teachers, and the community at large. The zig-zags are there for a reason: to stop people parking in dangerous locations.

Rule 238 of the Highway Code: You MUST NOT wait or park, or stop to set down and pick up passengers, on school entrance markings (see ‘Road markings’) when upright signs indicate a prohibition of stopping.

[warning]If you have pictures of Selfish Parkers in Harrow, who think that yellow zig-zags outside school don’t apply to them, please snap a photo and send it to us at info@iharrow.com so we can feature them. [/warning]
