Hannah David’s Campaign for Crossrail Connection in Harrow

Today Hannah David, Harrow West’s Conservative Parliamentary Candidate, met with the Secretary of State for Transport, Patrick McLoughlin MP, to discuss how they could work together to connect Harrow to Crossrail.

Hannah has been campaigning with other local Conservative MPs for a North West London extension of the Crossrail link that would connect Harrow, Watford and Hertfordshire to the West End and the City, as well as to each other. In response to this the Department for Transport has launched a feasibility study into making this a reality via Harrow and Wealdstone station.

Hannah said, “Connecting Harrow to Crossrail would benefit Wealdstone and the wider area hugely – it’s just what the area needs. It will bring huge investment and hundreds of jobs to the area as well as opening up employment opportunities for local people in Central London, Watford and beyond. I am delighted to be working with the Secretary of State to make this idea a reality and secure a better future for everyone in Harrow.”

A Crossrail station at Harrow and Wealdstone could fit in perfectly with our plans to manage London’s growing need for better transport links. This could lead to the transformation of this part of North West London and I know that Hannah will be fighting to make it happen.”
