Martial Arts Club in South Harrow?

Another interesting planning application – this one for a change of use of the space above Costa Coffee into a ‘martial arts school’ – this seems like a good idea, offering sport and exercise to a range of people, from 3-4 years upwards. According to their website, they have an extensive school in the Eastcote area, which they’ve outgrown:

We are a multiple Award Winning martial arts school, guiding individuals from all walks of life and in all age groups, to reach their full potential. Our curriculum is a unique blend of leading martial arts styles and places strong emphasis on valuable life skills such as perseverance, focus and self-discipline. The result: As students learn highly effective self defense techniques, they experience new levels of confidence and empowerment.

For children, this means better grades in school and better behavior at home. Teens gain a level of clarity that gives them a huge advantage in dealing with the complexities in their lives. And for adults, this translates directly to increased success in business and more fulfilling personal relationships.

Sound too good to be true? Consider this: The stress of today’s pressure packed world can derail almost anyone, personally or professionally if they don’t have the internal strength to achieve their goals. Imagine having the clarity to know exactly what you want to accomplish and the mental strength to excel at whatever you set your mind to – That’s what students learn at Satori Academy. And as if that’s not enough, we make it enjoyable so our students love coming back for more. Stop by anytime and see for yourself.

We’ll watch this one with interest, and I’m sure that only a lack of car-parking could block this one.  For more details, look at their website here, have a read of the detail here, or search for application number P/0089/11 on the Harrow Council Planning Portal.
