Newton Farm – Harrow’s Most Over-Subscribed School

harrow_council_logoHarrow Council has announced the school admission allocations for September 2013, and the results make interesting reading.

Newton Farm school received 524 applications for just 30 – that’s 17 kids fighting for every single place in the class.

Across the borough, there are 2490 places available, ranging from single form entry school (of which Newton Farm is one) through to four-form entries, such as Pinner Park, Longfield, and Stanburn. Over 8600 applications were made: it’s not possible to see how many individual children applied, as applications can be made to more than one school.

Most of the schools were oversubscribed between 2-5 times, and no school received less applications than places it had available.
